October 2007 Workyoke Discussion Topics

Topic Summary

Discussion – Content on ADCA Website

The article printed regarding RFID was not intended to indicate that the ADCA was headed in that direction.  The minutes from the AGM will clarify that the Board has made the statement that each breeder needs to comply with their individual state requirements on any ID's other than our normal tattooing.

The chat rooms linked to the ADCA website have been removed after the membership voiced it’s displeasure with their addition. The Bulletin (late or early) remains the educational and business connection to the membership.

MOTION was made by Sandi Thomas and seconded to amend the vote already approved to report WorkYoke activity in the Bulletin to include a monthly addition of WorkYoke business on the ADCA website.  And that the AGM Membership Meeting Minutes of 2007 be posted as well ASAP.    Motion passed by majority.   10/11/07

Informtion – New Attorney (continued)

The  law firm that the ADCA is securing for further consultation regarding rules, regulations and bylaws is specialized in Delaware corporation law.  The firm has made a very preliminary review of our documentation to get us a proposal and is now at a point where the firm can commit the resources and get through this process rapidly beginning with a quick (3 hrs max) summary on our documents, and what clauses in Chapter 8 and 6 apply to the ADCA.  At this point, the BOD is discussing the retainer fee and cap for these services.

Due to problems associated with the production and schecduling of the fall bulletin, the Board agreed that a search for a new editor should be undertaken

MOTION was made by Robert Seddon and seconded that we immediately undertake the search to find a new editor for the ADCA Official Publications, and instate them as soon as a suitable candidate is found.  Motion carried unanimously. 10/24/07

Information - Google AdWord Account

From Oct 1 to Oct 5 our numbers are:  103 clicks to site at a cost of $8.94

Since we started:  1,885 clicks to site at a total cost of $185.00

Information – 2007 Herdbook

The Herdbook is done by the Registrar.  The publications editor was only responsible for cover pictures last year.  There will not be a duplication of information that is in the Membership Book, holding down the size for the cost. It will be ready in Dec.  AGM class winners and pictures are supposed to be printed as was done last year...that was a board vote.  There  has been discussion of including the video show winners, also.
